10-18-23   THOUGHTS

The eternal nature of God’s plan to save man through Jesus is bound up in the word FOREKNOWLEDGE, below.  KEY PHRASES: sanctifying work of the Spirit, sprinkled with His blood, in the fullest measure, born again to a living hope, resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, inheritance which is imperishable, protected by the power of God, greatly rejoice, proof of your faith, tested by fire, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.  
We could preach the Good News to a lost soul from these passages.  That soul could be found, obtaining as the outcome of their faith the salvation of their soul.  Such powerful words we read this morning.  Peter, through the Spirit, desires the FULLEST MEASURE of grace and peace for these believers...  For us!  It will take a “FULL MEASURE ALL” as in Luke 10:27b ESV    "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."  There is much for us to absorb here!  I must live it to the fullest!

1Pet 1:1-9       Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen  2  according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure. 3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4  to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  5  who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.  6  In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,  7  so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 8  and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9  obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

My Prayer:
Father, we pray for a full life in You.  Rework our lives to reflect a full effort from a powerful zeal.  May we greatly rejoice in truly learning what ALL means.  We beg your help in this area.  We know that pure hearts are blessed, make our hearts pure, O God.  Take away the world from us and help us to focus on things above.  May we see clearly each day, the spiritual way, and seek it with all our might.  Help us to be fruitful and powerful in providing blessings to those in need, both physical and spiritual.  Please, O God, may we gain the outcome of our faith, the salvation of our souls.      In the name of our Savior,    Amen.
